Concerts

Add caption

We've gone to few concerts in Korea.  With the close proximity and great transportation, it's much easier to go to any such event.  However, two of them were more memorable.  We went to a benefit concert for an welfare society where Dan volunteers to hold babies to be adopted. It's surprising they actually talk about adoptions openly and some are adopted by Korean parents.  They even had adopted children's choir.  And one of the best pianist in the world performed.  Such a treat.

Another one was to honor a pioneer of Korea's violin music.  Mr. Yang was one of the first ever to go to France to study violins and even taught Ms. Chung Kyung Wha.  She was the first Korean to become the one of the best in the world.  It was a surprise to all when she made an appearance. I don't know much about such high class music but even I could tell she was great.  Another great treat!

The Foods We Eat These Days...

Dan celebrated the Easter with a frozen turkey dinner for one.  I tasted it one bite.  It was better than I thought.  But after the Friday's chicken feet and the Saturday's cow intestines, I will still stick to Korean foods..  I am so very proud of Dan for trying all kinds of new foods.  I keep him hungry most of the time so he is hungry enough to try any food....

Dan's Aunt Rosemary Grey

Dan lost another loved one this past week.  His father's younger brother's wife, Rosemary, passed away.  Her health wasn't good lately but she was doing much better and when Dan spoke to both of them only few days ago she sounded real good, so it came as a surprise.  She was a great cook, the best in the family, and a doting grandma....  We wish all the best for Uncle Don and the family.
