이제는 손자들이 학교를 다녀, 아직 어리기는 하지만 방학이 아니면 제나름대로 바쁘다.  그래서 이번 여름에 그나마 유타로 이사온 후 거리가 가까와져서 딸이 아이들을 데리고 와서 며칠후에 아이들만 두고 갔다.  사내녀석들이라서 그런지 유난히 할아버지를 좋아해서 남편은 날마다 트레일러에서 개까지 함께 잔다고 신이나고....  나는 까다로운 큰아이 입맛때문에 씨름을 하고 그러면서 바쁘게 2주일을 보냈다.  

여름방학이면 나는 서울에서 진천에 있는 외할머니집에 갔다가 초평에 있는 큰이모집으로 경기도 이천에 있는 작은 이모집으로 놀러가고는 했었던 추억이 떠오르지만 사내녀석들이라 그런지 만 8살, 5살 짜리를 보기가 이렇게 힘든줄은 몰랐다.  딸이 정말 훌륭해 보이고 고마웠다.  남편이 큰아이를 데리고 빙고도 가도 두아이와 같이 바닷가에 캠핑도 가고하면서 정말 재미있는 시간을 보내서 아이들에게 좋은 추억을 많이 남겨주어 고맙다. 

Even though my grandsons are still only 8 and 5, because they are in school they can be quite busy.  But because they live relatively close my daughter brought the boys home and stayed for few days before leaving the boys with us for 2 weeks.  Dan had fun sleeping with the boys and the dog in the pop-up trailer every night. I tried my best feed the boys with their finicky taste.  I just did not want to starve them!

It reminded me my summer vacations.  Each year I went to spend time with my maternal grandmother then to my oldest aunt to my younger aunt.  Those were good memories.  Who knew how hard it was to just feed two boys!  I have new found respect for my daughter who spends so much time with her boys...  Dan took Ryan to BINGO games.  Dan calls for BINGO and Ryan loves to play and win often.  Besides, so many old grandmas love to see him.  Dan took both of them to a camping to a beach.  I don't know how much cooking they did....   But bless him.  I am sure the boys have so many good memories of Washington and the summer vacation.
