한국에 온지도 벌써 일주일 이나 되었는데도 아직도 시차를 겪는것 같다.  용산에 있는 미군부대에 있는 호텔에서 묵는데 손자들이 놀던 놀이터를 보면서 그 때가 벌써 옛날처럼 느껴진다.  

이른 저녁부터 꿈벅꿈벅 졸고는 새벽 2시면 어김없이 깨지만 그것도 버릇이 되어서인지 별로 힘들지는 않다.  전형적인 가을 날씨로 아침, 저녁으로는 제법 쌀쌀하고 낮은 아직도 덥다.  그래서 나는 반팔을 입고 다니는데 보통은 많이 싸입고 다니고 어떤 사람은 두꺼운 코트에 목도리까지 둘렀다.  이상한 것 중에 하나는 한국사람들은 선글라스를 별로 쓰지 않는다는 것이다.  그러니 나같이 머리는 하얗고, 짧은 소매에, 선글라스를 낀 사람이 이상해 보이는 것은 당연한 일일게다.  그래도 여기서 살고간 탓에 이제는 한국이 그렇게 낫섫게 느껴지지많은 않는다. 

I have been in Korea over a week now but I am still suffering jet-leg.  I am staing in the hotel on the Yongsan base which over looking the play ground where my grandsons played when they visited us.  That seemed a long time ago.

I nod off in early evening and wide wake around 2 o’clock every morning.  But it became a new pattern and it is not too bad.  It has been a perfect fall weather.  Chilly in early in the morning but warm during the day.  So, I normally go around in short sleeves but I see many in heavy coats and even scarves.  And very few wear sunglasses here, men or women.  So it must be a strange site for them to see me: and old woman with grey hair in the short sleeves with sunglasses.  However, it does not feel so foreign for me after being lived here for a while.

옛 서울역 고가도로를 공원으로 조성해 나무들을 심고 아름다운 곳으로 바꾸었지만 서울역 근처에서는 토요일마나 박근혜 대통령을 지지하는 데모로 시끄러워서.... 그래도 정리는 잘 되어 있어 걸어볼만 하다.  

It used to be an overpass around the old Seoul Train Station now converted to a park.  But every Saturday many people demonstrate to support the impeached President Park.  Too noisy to be enjoyed....

누구나 칠 수 있는 피아노가 몇대나 있는데 가끔 치는 사람들도 있다.  

There were several pianos anyone can play.  

나는 반팔을 입고 어느 젊은 여자는 꽁꽁 싸매입고, 같은 날에...  I am wearing a short sleeve shirts and the younger woman wearing a long, thick jacket with scarf on the same day...
