Few miles from our apartment there's a nice, small and clean market and so far that is my favorite. It has most of everything you need but most of all, I feel it's alive. There is man selling 호떡, flat cake filled with brown sugar, in a space may be four feet by five feet. He does a good business and always looks happy and alive. It's a treat to just watch him at work...
Oh, and one of the cheapest foods in Korea is alcoholic drinks. The famous 소주, so-ju, and 막걸리, mok- girl-lee, are less than a dollar per bottle whereas coffee is three or four dollars per cup. We save a lot of money just on coffee...
