Dan finally tried octopus, semi dried and roasted, at a baseball game and enjoyed.  He also found out how wild Koreans can be.  They have paid dancing young female cheer leaders.,

33 Years

Dan and I were baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 33 years ago on a cold day in Iowa by Brother Richard Pratt.  To say our lives would have been different if we hadn't join the Church is an understatement.  Being an LDS is a lifestyle not just a religion. I still find it difficult to live the way I know I should.

I started studying the New Testament in 2015 as the Sunday school program. We study the Old testament,  the New Testament, the Book of Mormon, and the Doctrine and Covenents each year. So, I should know the New Testament,  but....  So last year I decided to take time to study this time with the manual.  I've tried to study almost every day at least 30 minutes or more and reached the Second John this morning  I am not looking forward to studying the Revelation....  

 I've read the Old and the New Testaments all the way through once before but because I took time to learn this time I appreciate the New Testament more than ever.  I have learned so much more about the Lord and his disciples.  And I leaned how much God loves his children and how much He sacrificed. It's hard to pick one, but I really enjoyed the Peter maybe because II didn't pay much attention before...

This year we are studying the Book of Mormon which I read many, many times but...... I hope to spend some time studying this time.

So many people sacrificed so much to bring the gospel into our lives and we will be forever grateful.  So many good people we've met along our long and sometimes trying journey, we thank you.  Most of all we are grateful for the Lord for his love and his atonement so that we may have eternal lives with our family. 

Dan and I will celebrate today with 순대국 (soon-dae-gook, pork soup) for Suk, and 비빔밥 (bi-bim-bob, rice with mixed vegetables) for Dan.

Thank you every one, especially the Korean Branch members back home. Your love sustains us everyday.  Thank you.  The Gonzalez family who is taking care of Buddy, Jin and Don who take care of our house, we love you.. If you are reading this blog, you are loved by us, always...

My uncle has gray hair just like everyone in his family since he was young, but my aunt still doesn't

Weddings in Korea is a big production which can cost $100,000 easily. We went for a cousin's daughter who is 32. That's about the average age for a female to get married.  My uncle officiated the wedding.  He is quite famous being a freedom fighter since his 20s.  He and Dan get along real well but my uncle declared they should 'ousted Suk' because 'Suk is too conservative'

Anyone can officiate a wedding and many famous entertainers, church ministers and politicians make good living doing just that.

Markets...

We go out to markets in the evening walk around and try to eat something different each time. Korean stores are very small which makes very intimidating to walk in....
